Vijay Inder Singla’s path will not be easy in Sri Anandpur Sahib

Chandigarh: Vijay Inder Singla, the ‘parachute’ candidate fielded by the Congress party from the Sri Anandpur Sahib Lok Sabha constituency, is the fourth consecutive candidate who has been fielded by the Congress from outside.

The road will not be easy for Vijay Inder Singla, who faces a challenge. He was the Education and Public Works Minister in the previous Congress government and has once again been given a ticket by the Congress party. Earlier, the Congress party had fielded Ravneet Singh Bittu, Ambika Soni, and Manish Tewari from this Lok Sabha constituency despite being outsider candidates during the last three Lok Sabha elections.

Of these, Ravneet Singh Bittu and Manish Tewari were also successful in winning. In the current situation, the path of the Congress candidate will not be easy. The biggest reason for this is said to be the participation of Congress leaders from many assembly constituencies falling within Sri Anandpur Sahib in the race to obtain this ticket.

Former minister Balbir Singh Sidhu from the Mohali assembly constituency, former MLA Angad Singh from Nawanshahr constituency, and former MLA of the Sri Anandpur Sahib constituency and former Speaker Rana KP Singh were in the race for the Lok Sabha ticket from the Sri Anandpur Sahib constituency. However, the Congress high command has rejected everyone’s claims and placed a bet on Vijay Inder Singla.

It will be a challenge for Vijay Inder Singla to unite the ticket contenders. Former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi, a party leader from the Sri Chamkaur Sahib constituency, is also the party’s candidate for the Lok Sabha from Jalandhar, so he will also lack the support of the party’s top leader in this constituency.
