10 Punjabis among 12 found dead in Georgia restaurant
New Delhi: Twelve bodies were discovered at a restaurant in Georgia, Europe, including 11 Indian citizens and one Georgian national.
Of the 11 Indians, 10 were from Punjab, among whom was a young couple planning to celebrate their first wedding anniversary at a hill station.
Another victim, a 26-year-old man, had his birthday on December 14—the same day the bodies were recovered. The tragic news has left families in Punjab devastated, with many now appealing to the state and central governments for help in repatriating the bodies to India.
The cause of the deaths is yet to be determined, and authorities are investigating the incident.
