19 districts affected due to floods in Punjab, 41 deaths and over 1600 people in relief camps
Chandigarh News: In Punjab, 41 persons have died due to the recent floods and 1616 persons are living in 173 relief camps. Officials said 19 districts, including Tarn Taran, Ferozepur, Fatehgarh Sahib, Faridkot, Hoshiarpur, Rupnagar, Kapurthala, Patiala, Moga, Ludhiana, SAS Nagar, Jalandhar, Sangrur, SBS Nagar, Fazilka, Gurdaspur, Mansa, Bathinda and Pathankot, have been affected.
The government and rescue agencies have evacuated 27,286 people from submerged areas to safer places, the flood official said.
