2 sisters burnt alive after cylinder explodes in Punjab’s Bathinda
Chandigarh: A massive fire broke out in approximately 20 slums in Bathinda, Punjab, on Tuesday morning, during which two real sisters tragically died from being burned alive.
Additionally, numerous individuals suffered from severe burns. Fire brigade vehicles arrived at the scene upon receiving information, and after three hours of intense effort, the fire was finally brought under control.
The incident occurred in Oriya Colony, prompting Aam Aadmi Party MLA Jagroop Singh Gill to promptly visit the site upon learning of the fire. He assured to provide all possible assistance to the affected families.
Local resident Dayanand recounted that panic ensued among the slum dwellers when the fire ignited around 4 am. Most residents were asleep, leading to their entrapment in the blaze, which quickly spread throughout the area. It is believed that the fire originated from a cooking source.
