50-year-old building collapses in Chandigarh’s Sector 17; no casualties reported

Chandigarh: An old building housing the Mehfil restaurant in Sector 17 collapsed today.

Fortunately, no casualties were reported as the building was unoccupied at the time of the incident.

Located near the deputy commissioner’s office, the 50-year-old structure had previously been declared unsafe.

The collapse prompted authorities to cordon off the area, ensuring public safety.
