53 trains cancelled as farmers continue protest at Shambhu tracks
Ambala: The farmers’ sit-in under the banner of Samyukta Kisan Morcha (non-political) and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha continued on the railway tracks for the second day today demanding the release of three farmers arrested by the Haryana Police.
The farmers are sitting on the railway line at Shambhu in Patiala district near the Punjab-Haryana border to press for their demands.
As the farmers’ protest continued, railway officials of Ambala railway division said 53 trains were cancelled, 12 stopped before their destination and 23 diverted.
Railway passengers are facing problems due to disruption in rail traffic.
