7 companies of Gujarat Police arrive in Punjab, Security beefed up ahead of PM Modi’s rally
Chandigarh: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Punjab for campaigning on May 23 and 24. He will hold a rally in Jalandhar on May 24.
Various agencies have started preparations for the Prime Minister’s security. The local police have issued an alert, and two companies of the Gujarat Police have also arrived in Jalandhar.
Two companies of the Gujarat Police, armed with weapons, reached Jalandhar City Railway Station on Sunday ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally in Punjab.
According to sources, the supervision of PM Modi’s rally will be handled by the Gujarat Police. However, officials say that police companies from other states are coming to Punjab for the elections.
