9-year-old boy killed in stray dog attack in Ludhiana
Ludhiana: A 9-year-old boy was killed by stray dogs in Mohi village of Ludhiana on Monday afternoon. Sanjeev Shah, who had come from Bihar to visit his grandparents, was attacked by a pack of dogs while playing near a wheat field.
The dogs inflicted severe injuries on his neck, ears, and other parts of his body.
His grandfather, Shankar Shah, rushed him to Mullanpur hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Shankar Shah and his wife, Chanda Devi, had migrated from Bihar’s West Champaran a year ago to work as laborers.
Sanjeev lived with his mother, Kishanvati Devi, in Bihar after his father, Mukesh Shah, passed away. He had traveled to Punjab with relatives to meet his grandparents.
At the time of the attack, Shankar Shah was working on a farm owned by Sarabjit Singh. The district administration has been informed, and officials, including Tehsildar Harkirat Singh and BDPO office representative Baldev Singh, visited the site. Authorities are considering measures to prevent similar incidents.
In the evening, Sanjeev was buried at the village crematorium on Rudka Road in the presence of administrative officials.
