Aam Aadmi Party’s big blow to BJP and Akali Dal in Punjab
Chandigarh: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab dealt a big blow to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Shiromani Akali Dal Badal in Punjab. On Saturday, BJP OBC Morcha Secretary Kuldeep Singh Shanty and Akali Dal SC Wing Doaba General Secretary Gurdarshan Lal left their old parties and joined the Aam Aadmi Party.
Both the leaders were formally inducted into the party by Aam Aadmi Party Punjab President and Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann who welcomed them into the AAP family. On this occasion, AAP’s Jalandhar MP candidate Pawan Kumar Tinu and senior AAP leader Rajwinder Kaur Thiara were present.
Apart from Doaba, the Aam Aadmi Party also got a big boost in the Majha region today. The influential youth leader of Gurdaspur constituency and Punjab Vice President of NSUI Rahul Sharma also joined the AAP. Rahul Sharma is a popular young leader of Gurdaspur constituency and has a good hold among the youth.
Rahul Sharma was also inducted into the party by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann in the presence of Aam Aadmi Party Punjab General Secretary Jagroop Singh Sekhwan. Rahul Sharma leaving the Congress party is a big setback for the Congress in Gurdaspur .
In his statement after inducting all the leaders into the party, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that impressed by the work of the AAP government in the last two years, people from every section of Punjab are continuously joining the Aam Aadmi Party and are contributing to make Punjab Rangla again. He said that the party will create history by winning Lok Sabha elections in Punjab by 13-0.
