AAP becomes national party: now to get bungalows in Delhi, copyright on brooms symbol
Punjab E News: After the results of the Gujarat elections were cleared, breaking all records, the BJP was won 156 out of 182 seats. During the election campaign, the Aam Aadmi Party, which was claiming to form the government, seemed to be reduced to just 5 seats. Amidst the disappointing results, Arvind Kejriwal came on camera and started expressing happiness as Aam Aadmi Party becomes a national party.
With this, party will get now many benefits including that national parties can secure their symbol across the country. That is, now only the Aam Aadmi Party candidate will get the broom election symbol in the country.
National parties can have a maximum of 40 star campaigners in the election campaign and their travel expenses are not kept in the candidate’s election expenses.
In the national capital, national parties get a government bungalow for the party president and party office on rent at a subsidised rate.
During general elections, national parties get broadcast and telecast bands to broadcast on All India Radio. That is, the time for showing national parties on government channels is fixed.
National parties need only one proposer to file nominations. Other parties need 2 proposers. Unrecognized parties and independents need 5 proposers.
Two sets of electoral rolls are given free of cost to national parties. Also, their candidates get a copy free of cost during the general elections.
