AAP, Congress to contest 2024 Lok Sabha polls together in Gujarat
New Delhi: Gujarat Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) president Isudan Gadhvi today said the AAP and the Congress will forge an alliance to contest next year’s Lok Sabha elections in the state. “The Aam Aadmi Party and the Congress will contest the Lok Sabha elections in Gujarat by dividing the seats among themselves.”
He said, “We can definitely say that if we are right in seat-sharing, the BJP will not be able to win 26 out of 26 seats.”
In the 2022 assembly elections, the Aam Aadmi Party won five seats, while the Congress won 17 seats in the 182-member House. The AAP’s vote share was 12.9 per cent, while the Congress got 27.28 per cent votes. The two parties are a conglomerate of 26 opposition parties, including the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (India) Congress.
