AAP district president’s vehicle vandalised in Bathinda

Bathinda: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and truck union’s Gonyana president Harpreet Singh’s Swift vehicle was vandalised with sharp weapons by goons during the panchayat elections in Aklia Kalan village of Bathinda district, police said on Tuesday.

The matter is being linked to votes. The victim, Harpreet Singh, said he was the president of truck union Gonyana. His family is helping in favour of Aam Aadmi Party candidate Kala Singh.

At around 11.30 am today, some youths attacked with sharp-edged weapons and completely vandalised the vehicle, during which my brother ran away and saved his life.

Harpreet Singh said that details of the violence have been sent to the Chief Election Commission Punjab and Election Commissioner Bathinda about the incident. Police station Nehianwala in-charge said an inquiry was underway in this regard.
