AAP leader critically injured, wife killed in Ludhiana robbery attack

Chandigarh: An Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and businessman, Anokh Mittal, and his wife were attacked by robbers in Ludhiana, Punjab.

The couple was assaulted with sharp-edged weapons near D Mart on the canal bank while returning from dinner at a restaurant in Dehlon on Saturday night. The attackers looted their car, jewellery, cash, and mobile phones before fleeing.

Maanvi Mittal, also known as Lixie, succumbed to her injuries, while Anokh Mittal, 34, remains in critical condition. The couple lay injured on the road for about an hour before being rushed to DMC Hospital.

Police reached the scene after being alerted by a nearby dhaba owner who heard Maanvi’s screams. Authorities have launched an investigation and are reviewing CCTV footage from the area.
