AAP Minister visits Kalia’s residence after grenade attack, links incident to Lawrence Bishnoi and Pakistan

Jalandhar: Following the grenade attack at the residence of senior BJP leader and former cabinet minister Manoranjan Kalia in Jalandhar, Punjab minister and MLA Mohinder Bhagat visited his house on Tuesday to enquire about his well-being.

Speaking to reporters after the visit, Bhagat said the conversation with Kalia took place in a cordial atmosphere. “The police are investigating the matter, and we are hopeful that the culprits will be caught soon,” he said. Terming the attack “unfortunate”, Bhagat said it was a deliberate attempt to disturb peace in Punjab.

He also alleged a connection between gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and Pakistan in the incident. “It is true that such attacks in Punjab are being orchestrated by Lawrence Bishnoi in collaboration with Pakistan,” Bhagat claimed.

While noting that Bishnoi is currently lodged in Gujarat’s Sabarmati Jail under full protection provided by the BJP-led central government, Bhagat said the gangster’s alleged ties with Pakistan and other international operatives are no secret. “He is plotting to destabilise Punjab with the help of gangsters based abroad,” he added.

Meanwhile, security has been tightened outside Kalia’s house, and police have stepped up efforts to trace the attacker using CCTV footage from the area.
