AAP MLA exposes Patara Police Station Staff drinking alcohol at private resort, complains SSP
Jalandhar: In a startling incident late Saturday night, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Raman Arora discovered police personnel from Patara Police Station consuming alcohol at a private resort on the Hoshiarpur highway.
Arora reportedly barged into the resort, where he found Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Kewal Singh and four other officers drinking.
According to sources, the officers were not authorized to be at the resort and were not invited to any official function there.
Eyewitnesses claim the incident caused a significant uproar, with onlookers and Arora’s entourage capturing video footage of the police staff.
In a conversation with MLA Arora, ASI Kewal Singh claimed that he and his colleagues were at the resort for security purposes. However, the MLA’s team alleges that Singh, under the influence of alcohol, behaved inappropriately and pushed some individuals in the crowd.
Singh reportedly requested his phone back from Arora’s associates multiple times, but it was withheld due to suspicions of his intoxicated state.
The incident has sparked controversy and raised questions about the conduct of police officers off-duty, particularly regarding their involvement in unauthorized activities. The AAP has informed the Jalandhar SSP and demanded an investigation into the actions of the officers involved.
