AAP worker shot in Punjab village
Chandigarh: An Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) worker was shot after an attacker barged into his house in Patti Sahan village, near Amritsar. The victim, identified as 32-year-old Vivek Mattoo, sustained a gunshot wound to his leg.
Following the attack, Mattoo was rushed to the civil hospital, where he is undergoing treatment. His condition has been declared out of danger.
Police investigations, led by SHO Suresh Kumar of City Sadar Police Station and Jandiala Chowki in-charge Jasvir Chand, have revealed that the incident stemmed from a quarrel between Mattoo and two local youths, Mani Bawa and Billa. It is alleged that the accused fired the shots due to this ongoing dispute.
Police have recovered bullet shells from the scene and have registered a case at the Sadar Police Station. Further investigations are underway.
