AAP’s Shukrana Yatra reaches Amritsar with grand reception
Chandigarh: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) held a ‘Shukrana Yatra’ on November 26 to celebrate its victory in three assembly constituencies during the recent by-elections in Punjab. The procession began at the Kali Mata Temple in Patiala and concluded in Amritsar, where it was warmly received by supporters.
All AAP MLAs and senior leaders participated in the event, showcasing unity within the party. Aman Arora, AAP’s newly appointed state president, expressed gratitude to party workers and voters for their support. He pledged to fulfill the promises made during the campaign, emphasizing a focus on initiatives to address public concerns and improve governance.
The by-election victory has brought AAP’s total strength in the Punjab Assembly to 95 MLAs. Ahead of the civic polls in Punjab, the party appears to be energizing its cadre and countering critics who have accused it of being overly centralized.
Political analysts suggest that appointing Aman Arora, a prominent Hindu leader, as state president signals the party’s strategy to attract Hindu voters in Punjab and Delhi. The yatra also underlined efforts to build a second line of leadership, demonstrating that AAP is evolving into a more structured organization.
This marked AAP’s first statewide yatra in three years, serving as a platform to consolidate its position ahead of key elections in the coming year.
