Actress Shilpa Shetty attends eye camp in Dhuri, embraces Punjabi roots; praises working of Punjab CM Mann
Chandigarh: Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty Kundra today attended an eye camp in Dhuri, Punjab, organized by NRI Surinder Singh Nijjar. The event was also attended by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, his wife Dr. Gurpreet Kaur, and Punjabi actress Himanshi Khurana.
During the event, Shilpa impressed the audience by speaking in Punjabi and expressing her gratitude. She referred to herself as the “daughter-in-law of Punjab,” highlighting her connection to the state through her marriage.
When Shilpa Shetty was invited on stage, she delivered part of her speech in Punjabi, saying, “Eh kam jo tussi kar rahe ho, heal kar rahe ho. I can join this work,” which translates to, “This is a good job you’re doing. I can join you in this work.”
After being welcomed on stage as a guest, Shilpa responded by saying, “I am not a guest. When I come to Punjab, I feel I have come to my in-laws’ place. Now, after marriage, I am from Punjab.”
She praised the Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann for his functioning and taking the Punjab to new heights.
