After CM announces Mourning Notes to pay tribute to Sahibzadas, SGPC raises objections
The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has objected to Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann’s decision to play the ‘Matmi bugle’ (Morning Notes) in memory of the Sahibzadas.
SGPC Chief Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami stated that the announcement of sounding the Matami bugle on December 27, marking the martyrdom day of the 10th Guru’s Sahibzadas, goes against their dignity.
Dhami further expressed that the martyrdom of Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s younger Sahibzade, Baba Zorawar Singh, and Fateh Singh is not a cause for mourning but a symbol of valor. The Sahibzadas chose to sacrifice themselves for the preservation of rights, truth, and religion. Though young in age, their dedication to the Sikh cause was no less than that of elders.
