After debacle in Lok Sabha polls, SAD’s Core committee gives clean chit to Sukhbir Badal
Chandigarh: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) core committee meeting was held here today under the chairmanship of party president Sukhbir Singh Badal. The nearly six-hour-long core committee meeting here discussed the party’s performance in the polls and the current political situation in Punjab after the party’s humiliating defeat in the Lok Sabha polls.
None of the core committee members raised any question on Sukhbir Badal’s chairmanship during the meeting but expressed full faith in his leadership. The core committee has virtually given a clean chit to president Sukhbir Singh Badal in the case of defeat in the Lok Sabha elections.
In the meeting, everyone remained silent on the recommendations of the Jhundan Committee. The core committee has decided that party president Sukhbir Singh Badal will seek suggestions from party leaders individually and collectively to chalk out the overall strategy of the party and set the future agenda.
The party has invited everyone to give open suggestions and suggestions. It has also been asked to keep the cases that came up during the elections on the party platform.
The party has decided to form a new disciplinary committee and discharge the first chairman of the committee.
