Akali Dal (A) demands holding of SGPC elections
Amritsar News: On the occasion of International Day of Democracy, Lok Sabha Member Simranjit Singh Mann reiterated the demand for the establishment of a separate Sikh state.
His party, the Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar, held a rally near Sri Darbar Sahib on the occasion of International Democratic Day at Virasati Marg here. Speaking on the occasion, Mann said the Gurus and Sikh warriors had talked about a separate Sikh state and he was confident that one day a separate Sikh state would be established.
He said that democratic day is being celebrated today but democracy is not restored in the SGPC here. Its general elections have not been held for the past several years. He asked the Central government to hold SGPC elections and restore democracy.
