Akalis, BJP, Congress concerned over Majithia’s security, not drug issue: Harpal Singh Cheema

Chandigarh: Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema accused the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD)-BJP coalition government of being responsible for the spread of drugs in Punjab.

He said that during their tenure, drug supply increased significantly, and SAD leaders were provided with heavy security.

Cheema said the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government is actively fighting against drug mafias and smugglers.

He criticized opposition parties, including SAD, BJP, and Congress, for expressing concern over security downgrades while not addressing the drug issue.

“No one involved in drug smuggling will be spared,” Cheema said, adding that the AAP government remains committed to delivering justice to affected youth and their families.

He accused the opposition of not wanting to eradicate drugs but asserted that the AAP government would continue its efforts to eliminate the menace.
