Ambulance union’s strike continues, meeting between Punjab government’s committee and union today
PunjabENews: The strike by 108 ambulance unions continued for the fifth day today. Ambulance workers from all over the state are stuck in the biting cold at the toll plaza in Ludhiana to press for their demands.
Today, an important meeting of the representatives of ambulance drivers is going to be held with the committee formed by the Punjab government and discussions will be held to resolve this issue.
The committee constituted by the Punjab government included Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh will also be involved.
The meeting will be held at 12 noon at Punjab Bhawan in Chandigarh. The 108 ambulance union has been demanding an increase in salary and regularisation. Ambulance employees are demanding that the government take over the private company by expelling it.
It is noteworthy that the task of recruiting ambulance employees has been entrusted to a private company.
Therefore, the employees are demanding that the Punjab government should take over the work of the government by excluding the private company. Apart from this, the salary should be increased of the employees.
