Amritpal’s father announces formation of new regional political Party in Punjab
Amritsar: Tarsem Singh, father of MP Amritpal Singh and head of the Waris Punjab De outfit, has announced the formation of a new regional political party in Punjab. The official name, legislation, and structure of the party will be revealed at a large gathering after offering prayers at the Akal Takht.
Tarsem Singh, along with other supporters of Waris Punjab De, visited the Akal Takht to mark the fourth anniversary of the organization and to seek blessings for the establishment of the new party. The announcement comes as his son, MP Amritpal Singh, remains imprisoned in Dibrugarh Jail, Assam.
Speaking to the media, Tarsem Singh mentioned that the party’s name will be decided after consultation with the “sangat” (community). He said that the party would represent all Punjabis, regardless of religion, caste, or any form of discrimination, and would focus on addressing Punjab’s pressing issues.
Singh criticized existing political parties, including the Akalis, for failing to implement governance in line with the principle of Miri Piri as envisioned by Guru Sahib.
He accused them of neglecting the state’s economic, religious, and social welfare, while alleging that decisions affecting Punjab are being dictated from Delhi. He said that Punjab is in need of a strong, regional political force to address its unique challenges.
