Another promise of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann fulfilled
Jimpa lays foundation stone of toilet block to be constructed with Rs 7.46 crore near Gurdwara Fatehgarh Sahib
Fatehgarh Sahib: Stating that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann will leave no stone unturned in providing basic amenities to the devotees visiting the holy land of Fatehgarh Sahib, Water Supply and Sanitation Minister Bram Shanker Jimpa on Wednesday laid the foundation stone of a toilet block to be constructed at a cost of Rs 7.46 crore for the convenience of devotees near Gurdwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib.
Jimpa said that many devotees visit Fatehgarh Sahib every day to pay homage to the martyrdom of Baba Zorawar Singh, Baba Fateh Singh and Mata Gujri Ji, the younger Sahibzadas of 10th guru Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. This number reaches millions during the Shaheedi Sabha. In view of this, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann had announced the construction of a toilet block in July last year. Fulfilling the promise of the CM, the foundation stone of the toilet block has been laid today. Under this project, 21 toilet blocks will be built, out of which 441 toilets, 126 urinals, 126 washbasins and 315 bathrooms will be built.
He said that the government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann would not allow any kind of trouble to the devotees coming from all over the country and abroad on the holy land of Fatehgarh Sahib. Jimpa said that the supreme martyrdom of the Sahibzadas is scripted in the history across the globe and Punjab government is committed for the inclusive development of this pious land.
Water Supply and Sanitation Minister Jimpa said that this toilet block will be built in a modern way. He thanked the President and members of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) for their cooperation. On this occasion, Jimpa also paid obeisance at Gurdwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib and visited the SGPC office at Gurdwara Sahib. Jathedar Karnail Singh Panjoli honoured him by presenting him with a siropao.
MLA Advocate Lakhvir Singh Rai has specially thanked Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann for the toilet block being constructed for the devotees coming to Fatehgarh Sahib. He said that the Punjab Government was committed to the all round development of the constituency and considering the religious and historical importance of the town, the development would be further accelerated here.
Deputy Commissioner Preneet Shergill said that along with announcement of the construction of toilet blocks by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, it was also announced to widen and strengthen the five roads leading to Gurdwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib at a cost of Rs 8.17 crore and the work of these roads has been completed.
