Attack on Shiv Sena Punjab leader Sandeep Thapar Gora, two held
Chandigarh: Shiv Sena Punjab leader Sandeep Thapar Gora has been attacked by unidentified men in Ludhiana. The incident took place outside the civil hospital.
Four accused attacked Gora with sharp-edged weapons. He has been admitted to the hospital in critical condition.
On Friday morning, Sandeep Thapar Gora along with his gunman came to the death anniversary ceremony of Ravinder Arora, president of Samvedna Trust, which runs at the Civil Hospital.
As soon as he came out, four youths in the guise of Nihang attacked him with a sharp weapon. During this time, his gunman stood as a mute spectator on the side and did not make any attempt to save Gora.
Police have arrested 2 Nihangs from Fatehgarh Sahib. One accused is still absconding. Police are conducting raids in search of him.
Police Commissioner Kuldeep Chahal said that a team of SSP Fatehgarh Sahib Ravjot Grewal arrested them from near the university. The arrested accused belong to Baba Budha Dal. All the records of the accused are being investigated.
