Ayushman Bharat scheme payments halted, treatment stopped in private hospitals in Punjab
Chandigarh: Private hospitals in Punjab have stopped treatment under the Ayushman scheme since Thursday due to non-payment of Rs 600 crore, causing a lot of trouble to patients.
Under the scheme, patients in different districts reached hospitals to get treatment under the pre-determined time, but they had to return disappointed due to lack of treatment.
Now Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh has called a meeting with the Private Hospital and Nursing Home Association today to solve their problem.
He will also hold a meeting with the Indian Medical Association (IMA) on September 25 at 3.30 p.m. to resolve the problems faced in payments and functioning of the state health agency.
