Balkar Singh announces Rs 4.5 lakh for Maharishi Valmiki ji temple

Jalandhar: Local Bodies Minister Balkar Singh on Saturday announced a grant of Rs 4.5 lakh for the under-construction Maharishi Valmiki ji temple in Singh village of the district.

Addressing a public gathering in the village, the Minister Balkar Singh said that Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was committed for the welfare of the people and every effort was being made for the development works in the villages. He said that there was no dearth of funds for the works. He said that the construction of the temple would disseminate the philosophy of Bhagwan Valmiki Ji among the masses. He also asked the officials to execute the pending works on the temple site in planned manner and ensure speedy completion.
Singh also said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had given top priority to infrastructure development in the villages lagged behind in terms of development during the regime of previous governments. He said that every village of the district would get modern roads, sanitation, street lighting, playgrounds to ensure ease of life to the people.
On the occasion, the management of the temple also honoured the Minister.
