Bikram Majithia skips to appear before Patiala SIT second time in drug case
Chandigarh: Senior Akali Dal leader Bikram Majithia has skipped to appear before the SIT in Patiala for the third time on Tuesday. On July 20, Majithia was called for investigation, but he refused to appear, citing a hearing in the Court.
Majithia has sent a new reply to the SIT today, stating that he has a hearing in a case in Chandigarh where charges are to be framed. The court has asked everyone involved to appear.
In his reply sent on July 20, Majithia said that he had a hearing in the Court on July 23, seeking regular bail. He mentioned that he needed to prepare to present his case in the Supreme Court and was therefore in New Delhi. He requested that the date be set for after July 23. Consequently, the SIT sent another summons for July 30.
