Bio-mining to start at Wariana dump site soon – Financial bid gets approval

DC Aggarwal visits the site, instructs MC officials to submit fresh proposal to purchase required machinery

Jalandhar News: With the Chief Minister Mr. Bhagwant Singh Mann, has committed to make Jalandhar into a model city, Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Aggarwal has directed the beginning of bio-mining operations soon at the Wariana landfill to enhance the city’s cleanliness and ensure the proper handling of waste.

The Deputy Commissioner, accompanied by officials from the Municipal Corporation, during their inspection of garbage management at the landfill, mentioned that the “Financial Bid for Bio-Mining has received approval from the relevant authority.”

He further stated that the Municipal Corporation will soon begin processing the daily pickup of approximately 500 metric tons of waste from the city through the Bio-Mining initiative.

In Bio-mining, materials will be moved in significant quantities, involving the sorting and recycling of soil, plastic, and various other materials. This approach will not only ensure the correct handling of waste but also contribute to protecting the environment from contamination.

The Deputy Commissioner asked the officials of the Municipal Corporation to immediately send proposals for the purchase of other machinery as required for garbage disposal, so that this machinery can be provided soon after raising the issue with the higher authorities.

He also instructed the officials of the civic body to pay personal attention to proper disposal of garbage heaps. He said that any kind of negligence in this will not be tolerated at all.
Municipal Corporation Joint Commissioner Puneet Sharma and other officials were also present on this occasion.
