Bizarre incident: Ashes goes missing from crematorium in Patiala, police launch probe

Chandigarh: The family was shocked upon reaching the crematorium in Rajpura, Patiala, to collect the ashes following the cremation.

The incident was reported at 9:30 am on Wednesday. Subsequently, Jagdeep Singh Sodhi, who had come to gather the ashes, filed a complaint with the police, stating that the ashes were of his mother. However, upon arrival, he discovered that the crematorium site had been thoroughly cleaned.

Jagdeep Singh Sodhi recounted that after his mother’s cremation, when the family returned to collect the ashes, they observed some organs still remaining in the pyre.

His brothers had added more wood to the pyre before leaving. Upon his return to collect the ashes, he found that the pyre had been completely cleaned, and the ashes were no longer present at the site.

Meanwhile, Patiala police have launched the probe into the matter.
