BJP appoints Vijay Rupani as in-charge of Punjab and Chandigarh Lok Sabha polls
Chandigarh: The ruling BJP has appointed Lok Sabha election in-charges for 23 states and Union Territories, designating Rajya Sabha member and Odisha leader Baijayant Panda as the sole in-charge of Uttar Pradesh, a state with the highest number of 80 Lok Sabha seats.
Former Gujarat chief minister Vijay Rupani will oversee Chandigarh and Punjab, with Narinder Singh as his co-incharge in Punjab.
BJP’s in-charge for Haryana, Biplab Deb, will share responsibilities with co-incharge Surinder Nagar. In Himachal Pradesh, Shrikant Sharma, BJP’s former national media in-charge and sitting MLA from Uttar Pradesh, assumes the role of in-charge, while Sanjay Tandon serves as co-incharge.
BJP general secretary Tarun Chugh, currently overseeing Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, will continue handling both states, with Delhi BJP leader Ashish Sood assisting him in Jammu and Kashmir.
