Blast at Islamabad police station in Amritsar; sixth incident in recent weeks
Chandigarh: A powerful explosion occurred at the Islamabad police station in Amritsar early this morning, marking the latest in a series of attacks on police stations in the region.
Commissioner of Police Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, who arrived at the scene with other officials, confirmed that a loud explosion was heard around 3 am, but no damage or casualties were reported.
The incident triggered panic among residents in the area. Germany-based gangster Jeevan Fauji has reportedly claimed responsibility for the blast on social media.
Police officials, however, stated that the matter is under investigation, and forensic teams have been deployed to determine the cause and nature of the explosion.
This marks the sixth such incident in recent weeks. On December 4, a similar explosion occurred at Majitha police station, which authorities initially attributed to a tyre burst.
Prior to that, an explosion took place at the Gurbaksh Nagar police post in Amritsar, temporarily closing the building. Additionally, explosive material was discovered outside the Ajnala police station.
