‘Both faction must solve the issue amicably,’ says Giani Harpreet Singh amid rebel Akalis to form a new party

Chandigarh: In response to a question, Jathedar of Takht Sri Damdama Sahib and former acting Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Giani Harpreet Singh said that if the entire Shiromani Akali Dal approaches him for the chairmanship of the party, he can discuss the subject. He was here today at Sri Harmandir Sahib.

Giani Harpreet Singh said that no Akali faction has reached out to him in this matter so far. He wants to stay away from factional politics but if the entire Akali Dal approaches them in this regard, they can consider it.

On the crisis in the Shiromani Akali Dal( SAD), he said it was an old political organisation of the Sikhs and there should be no split in it. If there are any differences between the two group, they should sit together and resolve it.
