Boycott of polling in Ahmadpur village of Mansa district over non-arrest of accused in double murder case
Bathinda: Only 2.22 per cent polling was recorded till 11 am at four polling booths in Bathinda district as the villagers boycotted the polls and staged a sit-in outside the polling booths in connection with the double murder case at Ahmadpur village in Mansa district under Bathinda Lok Sabha constituency.
Assistant Returning Officer–SDM Budhlada Gagandeep Singh and DSP Manjit Singh Aulakh rushed to the spot to pacify the people in the village.
They pacified the people and took the voters to the booth.
On the night of January 10, 2024, village elders Jangir Singh and Ranjit Kaur were murdered, whose killers are still away from police custody. The people of the village boycotted the vote demanding justice.
