BSF seizes over 3 kg heroin dropped by drones on Indo-Pak border, two smugglers arrested
Amritsar: The Border Security Force (BSF) has seized over three kilograms of heroin in two operations along the Indo-Pak border, dealing a blow to drug smuggling.
The operations, conducted jointly with the Punjab Police, also led to the arrest of two Indian smugglers.
In the first operation, intelligence inputs indicated that a Pakistani drone had dropped a heroin consignment in Rajatal, Amritsar.
Acting on this, BSF and Punjab Police launched a joint operation, ambushing and apprehending two smugglers. Officials recovered 475 grams of heroin, wrapped in yellow tape and attached to a hook, confirming its aerial drop. A motorcycle and mobile phones were also seized from the suspects.
Further investigations are underway to trace the broader network involved in the smuggling.
