Budget 2024: Railways to be developed in Punjab with Rs 5,147 crore and Haryana Rs 3,383 crore funds
Chandigarh: In the Union Budget presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, an allocation of Rs 5,147 crore has been made for the Railways in Punjab. Under this, 30 stations are to be developed as Amrit railway stations.
Apart from this, work is also underway on 12 projects to build 1,158 km of new tracks, which are to be completed at a cost of Rs 19,843 crore.
At the same time, about Rs 2,666.5 crore will be spent on eight railway sections under Ambala Division.
Apart from this, Rs 143.38 crore will be spent for the work of closing railway crossings and other amenities including railway under-bridges and other facilities.
Railways has allocated a budget of Rs 3,383 crore for development works in Haryana. Of this, Ambala division alone has been allocated Rs 2,809.88 crore.
