Chandigarh News: The administration is claiming to have completed all preparations for the student union elections in 11 colleges of Panjab University and Chandigarh.
Around 43,705 voters will cast their votes in 10 colleges. 110 candidates are in the fray. Apart from this, only four nominations have been received for four posts in Sri Guru Gobind Singh College for Women, Sector 26, due to which the candidates have been selected unopposed.
On the other hand, the Chandigarh Police is looking tough ahead of the student elections of Panjab University. The Chandigarh Police took action and raided the boys’ hostel in the early hours of today. During this time, the police searched the rooms with promptness.
This raid was done suddenly, during which the police have not received anything. Despite this, the police are fully prepared.
Voting for the Panjab University students’ union elections will be held on September 6. The elections have been approved by the UT administration.
The counting of votes will take place at 2 pm on September 6. Nine candidates from different student unions are in the fray for the post of president in this student election.
