Channi stresses on improving ties with Canada, calls Moosewala’s killing ‘political motivated’

Jalandhar: Former Punjab Chief Minister and Congress MP Charanjit Singh Channi on Wednesday urged the Central government in Jalandhar to focus on improving relations with Canada.

Channi, a Lok Sabha member from the Jalandhar constituency, was responding to a question from reporters about the recent strain in India-Canada relations.

“We have developed a tense relationship with Canada, given that a large number of people from Punjab live there. Our government should work on improving these relations, as we now rely on Canada for many daily interactions,” he said.

When asked about the involvement of gangsters in the Canada case, he countered with a question: “Who creates gangsters in the first place?”

He added, “In fact, the truth is starting to come out. I had previously said that the murder of (Sidhu) Moose Wala was politically motivated, and this will soon become clear.”
