Civil Hospital To Be A Super Specialty Facility In Coming Months

Punjabenews: Punjab Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh on Sunday said that the local Civil Hospital would be converted into a super specialty one with availability of advanced medical facilities, that too free of cost, including all types of test.
The Minister, who was in the district first time after taking over health portfolio, discussed with the Civil Surgeon Dr. Raman Sharma the proposed project besides directing to submit a detailed project report so that that next course of action could be initiated on this count, which would be a great help to people in need of healthcare services. Dr. Balbir Singh said that once this would turn into a super specialty all the ultra-modern medical services including all types of advanced tests were available free of cost.
Saying that he will shortly visit the Civil Hospital, the Health Minister said that the volume of operations at civil hospital would be eased out as the minor operation facility is to be started at all Community Health Centers. He said that there would be no shortage of doctors and staff in the hospitals across district as this issue was being addressed shortly.
The Minister also pointed out that the State Government would replicate the ‘Farishte’ initiative in Punjab. Under this, the patient or victim of any emergency will be taken to hospital within a minimal time, said the Minister urging doctors and other people, having cars, to carry first aid kits in their vehicles. The doctors could also bring some injections and medicines, which are useful in any exigency to get some time, which is often crucial, to ferry the patient to nearby hospital.
At Ghakal Village, after inaugurating the free eye and medical camp Dr. Balbir Singh personally carried out eye check-up of some patients besides providing free medicines and prescription. The Minister commended the role of NRIs in social and development works across Punjab. The camp was organized in memory of their parents by the NRIs Kulwant Singh Gora, Balbir Singh Gora in association with the ‘The Divine Onkar Mission’. The Minister also took a round of stalls setup by the teams of doctors to provide medicine to patients and also interacted with the people and medical experts.
Meanwhile, the Minister accompanied by Kartarpur MLA Balkar Singh visited Athoula village. The MLA urged the Minster to start Aam Aadmi Clinic in a building of dispensary in village. Acceded to the demand of the MLA, Dr. Balbir Singh assured that the Aam Aadmi Clinic would be opened at Athoula.
Punjab Agro Chairman Mangal Singh, Civil Surgeon Dr. Raman Arora, Olympian Surinder Singh Sodhi and others were also present.

Health Minister pays obeisance at Dera Ballan: Punjab Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh along with Kartarpur MLA Balkar Singh paid obeisance at Dera Sachkhand Ballan on the occasion of 646th Prakash Purb of Sri Guru Ravidass Ji. The Minister, while greeting the people on this pious occasion, also exhorted the people to tread the path shown by Guru Ravidass ji to foster communal harmony, ethos of brotherhood to ensure an egalitarian society. The Dera Ballan also presented a siropa (a robe of honour) to the Minister, MLA and others.
