Class 7 student commits suicide in Jalandhar

Jalandhar: A 14-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan in Punjab’s Jalandhar district, police said on Thursday evening. The girl, a student of class 7, was found hanging in her room.

The body of the girl has been sent for post-mortem by the police of police station division number-6 (Model Town).

The post-mortem of the girl will be conducted today, after which the body will be handed over to the family. The incident came to light when the girl’s mother returned home and found her daughter hanging.

Sahil Chaudhary, SHO of police station division number-6, said that they had received information that a minor has hanged himself in his house in Abadpura.

He along with a police party rushed to the spot and took possession of the body and sent it to the civil hospital for post-mortem.
