CM quips over ongoing squabble of power in Akali Dal
Chandigarh: Quipping on the plight of Shiromani Akali Dal, the Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said that it is ironical that Akali supremo Sukhbir Singh Badal will campaign against the candidate having election symbol of his own party.
In a statement issued here today, the Chief Minister said that Akali dal is in dire straits these days as the Akali leaders are squabbling for power. He said that the party neither has any ideology nor its power hung leaders have any stand. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that these leaders are shamelessly working only for their own vested political interests without even bothering for the state or its people.
The Chief Minister said that the pitiable condition of this grand old party of the state can be well judged from the fact that in the run up of Jalandhar by-poll, the party President will not campaign for the candidate having symbol of Akali Dal. He said that ‘Scales’- the symbol of Akali Dal is with some other candidate whereas Sukhbir Singh Badal will campaign for another person. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that these leaders are taking the people of state for granted which will not be tolerated at any cost.
The Chief Minister said that people of state will not spare these leaders for their sinful acts and will teach them a befitting lesson in the poll. He said that these leaders will be shown a door by the people as they will not get swayed away by their malicious propaganda. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that these leaders have always deceived the people of the state by giving paramount importance to their own interests without bothering about Punjab and Punjabis.
