Compensation cheques for wheat damaged due to unseasonal rains will be given to farmers on Baisakhi: CM Mann
Punjab E News: Addressing a press conference on the completion of one year of the Aam Aadmi Party, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that there has been a 16.6 per cent increase in GST collection in Punjab as compared to the last financial year, which is the biggest achievement of the government.
He said the excise policy of the state has come three months after the formation of the government. Despite this, the government collected Rs 8,841 crore in the last financial year, which is Rs 2,587 crore more than the previous financial year.
The government aims to take it to Rs 10,000 crore. The government has completed girdawari of 60 per cent of the land in the state to assess the damage caused to the wheat crop due to unseasonal rains.
Unlike previous governments when girdawari was not even reported for years but this time compensation cheques will be handed over on Baisakhi. He said that in the power sector also, the government has already given the entire amount of Rs 20,200 crore to PSPCL.
“We will ensure uninterrupted power supply to farmers for more than eight hours during the paddy sowing season and there will be no cut on industries.”
