Congress and AAP candidates cross paths at Gurdwara on polling day in Gidderbaha
Chandigarh: Congress candidate Amrita Warring and AAP candidate Hardeep Singh Dimpy Dhillon faced a brief encounter at Gurdwara Guptsar Sahib in Chhateana village today during the Gidderbaha by-election. Both candidates visited the historic gurdwara to pay obeisance, arriving almost simultaneously.
Despite being political rivals, the two exchanged pleasantries during the encounter. AAP’s Hardeep Dimpy was the first to greet Warring, who reciprocated the gesture.
According to eyewitnesses, Warring was the first to arrive at the gurdwara, followed by Dimpy a short while later. Out of respect, Dimpy waited a few minutes outside the sanctum while Warring concluded her prayers.
Elsewhere in the constituency, BJP candidate Manpreet Singh Badal toured polling stations, meeting party workers at booths and encouraging them to maintain their efforts on election day.
