Congress announces candidates for two more seats in Punjab, denies ticket to sitting MP from Faridkot

Chandigarh: The Congress has released its second list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Punjab in which the names of 2 candidates have been announced.

Yamini Gomar from Hoshiarpur and Amarjit Kaur Sahoke from Faridkot have been given tickets. Congress has denied ticket to MP Mohammad Sadiq from Faridkot.

Sahoke’s husband Bhupinder Sahoke had contested the 2022 assembly elections from Nihal Singh Wala seat, but had to face defeat.

Gomar had unsuccessfully contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections on an Aam Aadmi Party ticket. In 2016, Gomar left the party due to differences with AAP and joined the Congress.
