Congress to announce first list of 7 candidates in Punjab tomorrow

Chandigarh: The Congress is set to announce the names of seven candidates from Punjab in its next list. In the meeting of the Screening Committee in Delhi, the decision was taken to repeat the tickets of three sitting MPs, which was placed before the Congress Election Committee (CEC) on Saturday.

Partap Singh Bajwa, who was part of the meeting, said that the first list of Punjab Congress candidates will be released tomorrow afternoon.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, CPP President Sonia Gandhi, KC Venugopal, Ambika Soni, Madhusudan Mistry, Bhakta Charan Das, Devendra Yadav, Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, Partap Singh Bajwa etc. were present in the CEC meeting.

According to the information received, the ticket of three MPs has been agreed. While a consensus is awaited from the high command to change the seat of an MP. On the other hand, candidature for Sangrur and Jalandhar have been finalized in the meeting, sources said.
