Congress to hold door-to-door campaign to woo votes in Punjab, Kharge’s convention to be held in Samrala
Chandigarh: On one hand, senior leaders of the Punjab Congress are actively seeking prominent figures for the upcoming elections by venturing into Lok Sabha circles. Simultaneously, the Congress plans to engage with voters by initiating a door-to-door campaign, set to kick off on Tuesday through the efforts of the Youth Congress.
Concurrently, the party’s national president, Mallikarjun Kharge, has commenced the search for a suitable venue for the February convention. To facilitate this, party in-charge Devendra Yadav will visit Samrala (Ludhiana) today, accompanied by senior party leaders. Anticipated to take shape soon, the convention will subsequently become the focal point.
Expressing a deep commitment to the Lok Sabha elections, Congress leaders, including party in-charge Devendra Yadav and President Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, are actively assessing the ground-level situation. In response, the Congress initially opted to gauge public sentiment across various circles to understand the prevailing realities.
The second phase of this campaign is set to commence today in Amritsar, a constituency currently held by the Congress. Gurjeet Singh Aujhala, a Congress MP, represents this seat. The meeting for this Lok Sabha constituency is scheduled for precisely 11 am in Amritsar today.
