Customs officials seize gold worth Rs 1.62 crore at Indo-Pak border from woman
Chandigarh: The customs department has achieved a major success on the India-Pakistan international Attari border. Customs officials have seized gold worth Rs 1.62 crore from a woman from Pakistan at the border here.
More than 2 kg of gold has been recovered from a woman who was returning to India after meeting her relatives living in Pakistan.
The two countries have a common ICP on the international Attari border. Indian customs officials on duty at The Hague suspected the luggage of the woman who arrived in India from Pakistan.
Officials said that when the goods were checked closely, the handles of the steel utensils were painted silver, when checked, the gold came out, which has been seized by the Customs Department.
