Dallewal refuses to shift to temporary hospital despite health concerns
Chandigarh: Farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal has once again declined the state government’s proposal for proper medical treatment, including relocation to a temporary hospital established near the protest site.
Dallewal, who has refused to take medicines or fluids, remains steadfast in his decision, even as concerns for his health mount.
The refusal comes after the Supreme Court directed authorities to admit Dallewal to a hospital by December 31.
In response, a high-level team led by Patiala Range DIG Mandeep Singh Sidhu, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Preeti Yadav, and SSP Nanak Singh visited the protest site on Saturday evening to persuade the farmer leader. The team also included Additional Deputy Commissioner General Isha Singal.
Officials urged Dallewal to accept medical assistance while continuing his agitation. They proposed shifting him to Rajindra Medical College or Mata Kaushalya Hospital in Patiala or to a temporary hospital just 700 meters away from the protest site.
This temporary facility is equipped with emergency medicines, advanced medical equipment, and a team of specialist doctors available round the clock.
Despite these assurances, Dallewal remains adamant, declining all options for treatment. Medical teams from Rajindra Medical College and Mata Kaushalya Hospital have been stationed near the protest site to monitor his condition continuously.
However, his continued refusal to cooperate with health experts has intensified concerns over his well-being.
