Debt-ridden farm labourer commits suicide in Bathinda
Bathinda News: Nahra Singh (60), son of Tittar Singh, a farm labourer from nearby Malwala village in Talwandi Sabo, Bathinda committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree.
Villagers said the deceased, Nara Singh, was a farm labourer. He had taken the tractor on instalments. He had a debt of over Rs 5 lakh on his head which grew due to crop failure due to the weather.
The financiers took away his tractor due to which he used to suffer. The villagers have demanded compensation from the government to the family of the labourer.
